Mcgregor vs Khabib at ufc 229

UFC has officially announced that Conor McGregor is going to make a return to Octagon after 2-year interval. He has challenged Khabib Nurmagomedov for the lightweight championship in the main event of UFC 229 on October 6th, 2018. The venue of the match is the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas.

Khabib vs. McGregor lightweight title is one of the most anticipated lightweight title fights in the UFC history. This fight is also McGregor’ first since he was pleaded guilty in New York for throwing a hand truck at a bus full of fighters in Brooklyn. A lot of people are confident that this showdown will be the biggest MMA fight in the past 24 years of the UFC history. Both Khabib and McGregor are aggressive players. They will go straight after each other’s head and so, it’s going to be an incredible show.

McGregor hasn’t fought in the Octagon since November when he won the lightweight champion by knocking Eddie Alvarez out and became the very first fighter to hold two UFC titles at the same time.

After taking these two titles, McGregor went on a break from MMA competition to raise his child. He also stepped into boxing for a prize fight with Floyd Mayweather Last August but lost. This bout was still a success for all the parties involved. The event drew 4.3 million buys. After this windfall, there were lots of questions whether or not McGregor will fight again. His rivalry with Nurmagomedov had been brewing for years now and the two will finally get to settle their rage inside the cage.

Nurmagomedov, on the other hand, emerged as one of the top fighters in UFC in the absence of McGregor. He won all 10 of his UFC contests. He also earned the promotion of lightweight championship at the UFC 223 after McGregor was forced to vacate his belt. That’s exactly when the feud between the two exploded.  McGregor and his associates went on a rampage and McGregor hurled a hand truck at the bus that was transporting fighters after the media day. The hand truck injured Ra Borg and Michael Chiesa after which both had to withdraw from the UFC 223 match. McGregor was charged with 3 counts of assault and 1 count a criminal mischief. He took a plea deal presented by the state of New York with no jail time or criminal charges. Now, he is ready to challenge Nurmagomedov.

Fans can’t wait to see how Nurmagomedov will fare against McGregor's punching and quick movement. Let’s wish both fighters good luck!
